One Honest Person

I was still kind of upset about losing the large wad of birthday cash, so this morning I called all the stores we went to and gave them my name and number in hopes that someone felt like being honest. One woman said, "Not to be pessimistic, but that is a lot of money, I don't think you will ever see it again!"
I forgot my phone on our venture out today but found a new voicemail when we got home. I started screaming as a woman from Macy's told me a man had called about finding the money. He was willing to meet me anywhere to return it! Turns out that he and his teenage daughter were shopping and he found it lying on the floor.
I was happy to give him 50 dollars even though he said we didn't need to give him anything. He eventually took the money so he could take his kids out for pizza (what a sweet dad). I think about the example of true honesty that he showed his daughter and it makes me happy there truly are good people in this world!

What a great example that man set for his daughter. That's great. Now I on the other hand, got a speeding ticket the other day. I'm wondering how I am going to get back my $170?? Guess it's gone for good. :)

That is the most amazing story Mel! I am so happy for you. Now the question is, are you going to put the money back into your account or are you going to go get yourself even more stuff to celebrate?? I know what I would do LOL Love, Rachel

One time I bought a pair of pants and left them on a bench in the food court in Boise mall...still to this day it makes me sad. I am glad you got it back, what a good story.

Mel,
HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY!!!That was a good story. I'm glad that you found that money. It's so good to know that there are honest people. I think that it's a blessing of living in the midwest, there are so many good people out here. Sounds like you had a fun birthday, yet full of ups and downs. John is such an awesome guy. It was fun to talk to you the other day. OH, I have a funny story too. Someone accidently threw away my Christmas money, in a white envelope i might add, we went through all the christmas trash and we finally found it, luckily. HOpe you have a great day! Miss you tons. Love, Marie

This is the kind of story I like to hear. How often do things like that really happen? Hope all is going well for the Heiner fam in Indy. Your girls have grown up so much since we saw them almost a year ago. It is amazing how they change. The are beautiful. Just thought I would share our blog address so that we can hopefully keep in touch with you and John. (Not that our husbands don't keep in touch enough as it is :). cuatrokerbs@blogspot.com
